Karen Vazquez was born in Harrisburg, Pa, however, she spent most of her childhood living with her parents in beautiful Southern California. In her later teens she lived in Harrisburg again where most of her family has been living for many years. Over the past ten years she has lived in both states due to family and friends in both locations. She claims that both states will always be home to her.

Karen's career began at a young age in Pa, when her mother decided to send her to modeling school. She became a certified model at the age of 13. Her first work experience in 1992 was with Beverly Hills 90210 stars, Brian Austin Green and Ian Zering. She continued working as a runway model and spokesmodel for companies all over the United States until her early twenties. She has had several agencies represent her such as Barbizon Models, MG Models and Fashion Mystique Modeling.

Aside from modeling, Karen has been writing poetry since she was 14. In her teen years she wrote for fun, but over the past 13 years she has developed into a talented professional. Her poetry and lyrics are about love, dreams and the complexities of life. Her style is romantic and mystical and she claims it reveals who she truly is. She has a collection of over 300 works and she hopes to publish her poetry one day. She is still writing regularly and she feels her voice and songwriting skills are her greatest talents. She also believes that her mission in life is to express herself through music.

Another way she has expressed herself as an artist is through acting. She began acting at age 18. Her first job was as a body double for the film "Desperate Measures" back in 1996. She has worked with Andy Garcia, Sally Field and other talented actors. She has done commercial work, independent film and extra work for film and a video game. Karen has had several principle roles in the theatre as well. In fact, she began college as a theatre major, but later realized that music was her greatest love. She is still acting, however, most of her time is dedicated to practicing music.

Karen's main interest is music. She is currently attending Temple University's, Esther Boyer College of Music, as a full-time voice major. She studies voice extensively and sings in various languages as part of her regular repertoire. She sings opera and oratorio in Latin, Italian and English. She also sings French melodie, German lieder, English folk song, Spanish art song, musical theatre and jazz. She has performed in Philadelphia and Delaware with her school choir, The University Singers, and they continue to perform in the area several times a year.

Her voice is her main instrument, but she is also a guitarist. She writes most of her originals with her guitar. She loves to sing and write all genres of music, even though she is classically trained. She says that she is learning to sing properly so that she will have a long and successful career. Her collaboration with Russ Castella is a huge step in the right direction.
