For those who loved
Peter Rauhofer's retro mixes look no further, these mixes are right up
your alley. The Karen vs. Lexa Styles Mix starts out with a hammering beat
laced with some nice retro synths. Later in the mix some laser-beam noises
start up that help kick the song into gear. Karen's lovely voice doesn't
hurt either as she sounds tempting enough to lure both men and women to
the dance floor. The DJ MacGuyver vs. Tommyboy Remix is basically a dub
with the title of the song along with the chorus repeated over and over
throughout the song. The remix sounds very Industrial, so much that it
reminds me a lot of Thrill Kill Cult's classic "Cuz It's Hot". One thing I
really like about this remix is the use of record scratching noises - it
really picks up things up just when you think the excitement's over. I
believe this is Russ and Karen's first collaboration together but with the
unique sound that they're presenting it certainly won't be their last.
